Passing a changing landscape of prairies and hilly meadows to Drumheller. The region is known as the 'Badlands' and the 'Museum of Paleontology' with its fossils is definitly worth a visit. With the 'Dinosaur Trail', you pass all the most important attraction of the region.

Start with a visit at the famous 'Hoodoos', scary rock formations in the shape of big mushrooms. Afterwards to Fort Macleod, where you cannot miss the UNESCO World Heritage site of 'Head-Smashed-in Buffalo Jump. Then further to the south to the wonderful nature park of Waterton Lakes. Waterton Lakes N.P. - Cranbrook

From this wonderful mountain decor, you leave in the direction of Pincher Creek and Crowsnest Pass, to enter British Columbia. Make a stop at the miners town of Frank and you can participate in an underground mine walk. The historic town of Fort Steele deserves a stop and in Cranbrook the Museaum of Rail is worth a visit. Follow the Columbia River Valley to Radium Hot Springs and plan a stop at the hot water springs. Further to the wide Kootenay N.P., a sequence of lakes, glaciers and deep valleys.

Visit the town and the surrounding area: the Buffalo Paddock, Lake Minnewanka, a gondola ride to Mount Sulphur, Bow Falls and the famous Banff Springs Hotel. Brief visit to Jasper, and via Yellowhead Highway to Prince George. Along the way, you will get a stunning view on Mount Robson, the highest top of the Rockies. The day ends in Quesnel, a little lumberjack town along the Cariboo Highway.

Follow the Cariboo Highway in the direction of Cache-Creek, via Clinton, to the historic Hat Creek Ranch. This is an important 'Roadhouse'. Then to the west via the Duffey Lake Road to Whistler, situated in the wonderful mountain decor of Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains.
