Montreal - Shawinigan Area

Visit the modern city: Mont Royal, Place Jacques Cartier, the Olympic village, the Notre Dame cathedral, luxurious undergrond shopping centers. In the afternoon, travel to St. Paulin, a little and cozy town south of the Réserve Mastigouche. Lodgings in the Shawinigan area.

Shawinigan Area - Lac St. Jean

Start the day with a visit at the Centre d'Interpretation des Pates et Papiers in Trois-Rivières. In Grandes-Piles, the Musée de Bûcheron tells everything you need to know about woodworking. Afterwards, you travel to the untouched nature of La Mauricie end you reach Lac St. Jean. Lodgings in St. Gédeon, Roberval of St. Félicien.

Lac St. Jean - Chicoutimi

The St. - Félicien Zoo is definitely worth a visit. Afterwards, you can meet the local Indians of Pointe Bleue or you can make a stop in the ghost town of Val Jabert. Futher to Chicoutimi, where the Saguenay forms a delta with brackish water.

Chicoutimi - Tadoussac

Follow the north bank of the Saguenay and enjout the wonderful nature with ridged fjords and steep rock walls. Make a stop at St. - Fulgence and Ste. Rose du Nord, where charm and nature inspire many painters and artists. Travel to Tadoussac.

Tadoussac - Baie Comeau - Matane

Tadoussac is the region to discover different kinds of whales (price excursions p. 9). The white beluga whale is spotted frequently. Further thtough the old Indians region of the Ecoumins and Betsiamites to Pointe-aux-Outardes. You can possibly make a stop at the old fur factory. From Baie Comeau, you embark the ferry to Matane. Matane - Mont Albert

A relaxing drive to one of the most beautiful nature parks in teh region. You will encounter the biggest mountain of Quebec and unseen fauna and flora. Admission to the park needs to be paid locally.

Mont Albert - Percé

The road swings between the mountain and the sea and follows the river St. Laurent. This whimsical coastal route brings you to Gaspé to visit the Forillon National Park. To Percé for lodgings.

A day to further explore the many facets of the World Heritage city: The Citadel, the old harbour, Chäteau Frontenac and Terrasse Dufferin, Place Royale and le Musée de la Civilisation. In the close surroundings there is the Ile d’ Orléans, the waterfall of Montmorency and the Huron - village Wendake to visit.

You can enjoy an optional full day excursion to Tadoussac including 3‑hours of whalewatching on the St. Lawrence River at the mouth of the Saguenay River aboard a regular boat. Upon return, a visit to the spectacular Montmorency Falls that are 30 metres higher than the Niagara Falls with a flow of roughly 35,000 litres of water per second (125,000 litres during the spring). The rest of the day is at your leisure to explore this historic French-Canadian city with narrow streets and unique boutiques.
