Today, you drive to the wonderful park of Mount Rainier. Cross the park from the north to the south and make a hike from the Sunrise Visitor Center. Along the way, you can enjoy the most wonderful panoramic views of the mountain. Lodgings in Ashford, just outside the park.
The trip continues to the abandonned, grey lanscape around Mt. Helens. Watch the destruction from the last eruption in 1980 and pass at the info center near Silver Lake. The day ends in Olympia, the capital of Washington.
Drive by the Capitol Way en the Legislative Buildings, which offers a beautiful view on Mount Rainier and Mount St. Helens. Further to Aberdeen and north up to Lake Quinault, one of the most beautiful places in the south of the immens Olympic National Park. Take a walk in the subtropic rainforest or enjoy a relaxing canoe trip on the lake. Afterwards, you follow the road tho the west of the park, first along the ocean and then back to the innerland to Forks.
From Forks, you continue to Lake Crescent to make a hike to the Marymere Falls and to make a side trip to Hurricane Ridge. With a clear sky, you can enjoy the unforgetable panoramic view on the snow covered mountain tops. Back to the main road and further to Port Angeles. On the way back to Seattle, you cannot miss the Old Fort Townsend and Fort Warden. Some of the beautiful Victorian houses are still preserved. Passing little fishersmans villagers at the Puget Sound, you drive to Tacoma en further to midtown Seattle. Lodgings: Day 1 of the basic route.

From the Okanagan Valley, you drive to Revelstoke, further to Glacier National Park and the Rogers Pass. It's not as big in acres, but absolutely as big in nature, such as glaciers, rivers, high ridges. Via Golden, you reach the wonderful Icefield Parkway, which leads you right to Banff.
Start with a visit to Banff: Bow Falls, the historic Banff Springs Hotel, Lake Minnewanka, a trip to the top of Sulphur Mountain and an afternoon drive to Lake Louise, one of the most beautiful places of the Canadian Rockies. Enjoy a hike around the lake and back to Banff for lodgings.

A wonderful ride (approx. 6h) brings you via the Caribou National Forest the the center of the het Mormons in Utah, Salt Lake City. One of the biggest salt lakes in the world is situated near the city.
